Scots X Factor fans want Nicholas McDonald to take the coveted title this year, but they don’t think that he will win the show.
A poll carried out for the Evening Times by YouGov revealed that 43% of Scots are keen to see the 16-year-old singer from Motherwell take the X Factor crown later this month.
However, despite supporting McDonald, only 15% of Scots think he will win the show, with 49% believing that mum Sam Bailey will take the title.
McDonald will compete against Bailey, Luke Friend, and boy band Rough Copy in the show’s semi-final this weekend.
Fans correctly predicted that Tamera Foster would leave the show last weekend, voting her their least favourite contestant. All eyes will now be on Rough Copy’s fate this weekend after the boy band came second in YouGov's least favourite contestants poll.
However, Rough Copy’s mentor Gary Barlow is proving very popular during his final series on the show, with fans voting him their favourite X Factor judges. Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger topped the least favourite judge poll.
