Corrie stalwart Alison King has revealed she could be off to join the circus after struggling to find a new acting role since quitting the ITV soap earlier this year.
King, 43, left the show in May after 10 years playing Carla Connor, who was involved in several dramatic storylines including developing a gambling addiction and battling alcoholism.

King revealed her acting work has since dried up. Speaking at the launch of Cirque Du Soleil’s new production Amaluna in Manchester, she admitted she could go into something similar.

She told the Daily Star: “I’ve got no new acting projects in the pipeline. I may actually leave acting behind and join the circus.”
King’s character Carla left the cobbles for Devon after a failed attempt to run over sworn enemy Tracy Barlow.
