Line of Duty star Martin Compston has revealed to fans he does not know when the next series will air.
The Greenock born actor was responding to fans during a question and answer session on Twitter when he revealed that filming for season five will finish at Christmas.
The star, who plays Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott, added that it is up to the BBC when the show is aired.
He said: "We’ll finish filming by Christmas, up to BBC from there when best to screen it."

The show has become a hit since it first premiered in 2012.
The 34-year-old also revealed he could not see himself playing any other character.
He joked: "Could never see myself in anything but a waistcoat."
