A TWO Doors Down star has paid tribute to the founder of a popular Scots dance group after he tragically died following a cancer battle.

We previously reported that Mallorca Lee, who founded Ultra Sonic in 1991, passed away on Sunday afternoon aged 51.

It comes after the music producer announced last month that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Following the heartbreaking news, tributes have flocked in for the much-loved musician.

Two Doors Down star, Grado, who plays Alan in the BBC series, shared a picture with the music legend on his Instagram.

In the post, the actor said: "So heartbreaking beyond belief, life is so cruel.

"Sending love to all the family.

"Stevenston has lost an icon. Rest easy Mallorca."

Meanwhile, GBX star George Bowie also posted a touching tribute to the star.

Taking to social media, the radio presenter said: "Absolutely devastated by the news of Mall’s passing.

"We had so many good times at gigs all over the country over the past 30 years. Should have been preparing for the Festivals we had lined up this summer.

"A true legend and pioneer of dance music in Scotland taken way too soon.

"All our thoughts are with his family right now. Heartbreaking, truly heartbreaking."

Announcing the tragic news yesterday (Monday, February 5), a long-term pal of Mallorca, DJ Kid said: "It is with tremendous sadness that I announce the sad passing on Sunday afternoon of legendary Scottish DJ, producer and long-time friend Mallorca Lee, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer just 4 weeks ago.

"He was 51.

"During this incredibly upsetting time, my deepest sympathy goes out to Maria Mallorca's wife his children Angel and Oceano and his extended family and friends.

"You will be deeply missed, brother, but your energy and legacy will live on."
