And, even more recently, the stylists for Katy Perry and Michelle Obama have been in touch with the creative duo who founded Bebaroque to request their luxury designs.
Yet to buy these exquisitely embroidered and embellished hosiery designs in person, you'd have to travel to Harrods or Selfridges in London ... or even trek to stores in Beijing, Los Angeles, New York or Chicago.
Until now.
Bebaroque founders Mhairi McNicol, 29, and Chloe Patience, 31, are opening a pop-up shop in Glasgow's Princes Square on November 2 and 3.
"We only sell to Scottish customers through our website," said Mhairi.
"We did a pop-up shop in Edinburgh before and it was a really good opportunity to meet our customers directly.
"It was a good way to show customers the whole Bebaroque collection."
The duo will be selling items from their Autumn/Winter 2012 range at discounted prices – and there are bigger discounts on items from the Spring/Summer archives or on specially-commissioned pieces.
Prices for their designs, which include embroidered or tattoo-style printed tights, leggings, bodysuits and dresses, will range from £15 to £200.
Bebaroque was launched at London Fashion Week in 2007 after Mhairi and Chloe became friends while studying for degrees in textiles from Glasgow School or Art. They now work from a studio in Leith.
The brand was named Scottish Accessory Designer of the Year at the Scottish Fashion Awards in 2008 and 2011.
Pop star Lady Gaga wore the label's Anastasiya leggings and bodysuit at London Fashion Week in September.
Mhairi said: "It's flattering when you see something you've designed or made on a celebrity, but we get equally excited about seeing anybody on the street wearing our tights.
"It's just nice to see products you've made being worn."
The pop-up shop will also feature William Chambers Millinery and Euan McWhirter Jewellery.
