This week my Smooth Radio Drivetime guests were members of a 1960s band who had more hits than The Beatles!
OK, I’ll qualify that by saying The Hollies had more hits than The Fab Four between 1963 and the early 1970s.
That’s still an incredible achievement for a group who never officially disbanded and settled on their name as a tribute to rock and roll legend Buddy Holly.
With a new CD titled The Midas Touch on release, band members from the earliest days of The Hollies, guitarist Tony Hicks and drummer Bobby Elliott had clearly lost none of their enthusiasm for the music business as they reminisced about those early days at London’s iconic Abbey Road studios.
