MICHELLE McMANUS – Keeping a look-out for Brad

NEWS reached me this week that put a smile on my face so big you could have clearly seen it from space.

Brad and Angela are coming to Scotland

No, not that David Haye has been showering without his shorts again on I'm a Celeb, but that the gorgeous Brad Pitt is planning on returning to Bonnie Scotland once more.

Chanel's creative director Karl Lagerfeld's is set to host a fashion show at Linlithgow Palace in West Lothian with the likes of Angelina Jolie and Keira Knightley rumoured to attend along with the god that is Mr Pitt.

I've had a soft spot for the bold Brad since I saw him in the 1994 movie Legends of the Fall and proceeded to cover my entire bedroom and all of my school jotters in posters of him, believing that one day I would marry him.

I remember crying for days when Brad had been spotted in Glasgow back in 2000 and my best friend Carrie returned home from the Tunnel nightclub to tell us all that she'd seen him in the VIP area of the club and that she was sure he'd been making eyes at her.

I mean if only I'd been there and met him myself I'm sure I'd have been Mrs Pitt by now, hanging out with George Clooney and the gang.

Okay maybe not.

But it is great to have these A Listers coming to our fair shores as Scotland seems to be the 'It' place as far as Hollywood movie sets are concerned.

Over the last 12 months we've seen stars such as Scarlett Johansson and Halle Berry film scenes from their upcoming movies in Glasgow City Centre and who could forget when George Square was transformed last year into an American City for the 2013 summer blockbuster World War Z starring none other than Mr Pitt.

I have to say that, after having seen the trailer, Glasgow is looking pretty fantastic.

I remember getting a taxi around the time that the film was being shot and the driver told me the most hilarious story about a group of Geordie boys who had come to Glasgow for a weekend stag do.

They had all gone out around 7pm in the evening and two of them, including the groom, had fallen asleep at some point in the evening in a doorway in town.

When they awoke in the morning they were delighted to find they were both still in one piece and both had their wallets and watches still on their persons - but were horrified to see they were no longer in Glasgow but in the heart of Philadelphia.

They had flagged down a cab, and begged the driver to take them to the British Embassy!

Poor boys has no idea about the Hollywood circus that was in town.

Anyway, I will be on constant lookout for any sign of Brad in our neighbourhood over the next few weeks, I'm sure Angelina will be shaking in her boots.

Panto Diaries

It's week one of my panto rehearsals for the Pavilion's The Wizard of Never Woz and so far it's going great.

Clyde 1's Shebahn Littlejohn and River City's Stephen Purdon are already giving us a showing up - having learned all of their lines already while the wonderful Joyce Falconer has had us all in fits of laughter with a showstopping performance as the Wicked Witch of the West.

What a cast we have - and I can't wait for you all to see the best panto in town when it starts on November 28.

However, if you can't wait until then we will be in Glasgow's George Square tonight to help switch on the city's Christmas Lights.

Oh yes we will -
