YOUNG parents, pensioners and schoolchildren have started the Christmas fun early with a little help from Streets Ahead.
Residents of all ages, cultures and backgrounds got together for a special festive fayre at Barmulloch Community Hall.
As well as gift stalls, a bake sale, tombola and Santa's grotto, the event helped to bring diverse sections of the local community together.
Hundreds of people turned up. Jim Hope, development officer with Barmulloch Community Development Company, said: "We wanted to provide something for the community and get people involved.
"It was a very successful day.
"Events like this help create an identity for the local area, because Barmulloch has had its problems in the past.
"Glasgow Housing Association, who funded the fayre, are a tremendous help to us. There are a lot of things we couldn't do without their help."
