THERE was laughter and tears as almost 12,000 women crossed the finishing line at the Resolution Asset Management Women's 10K at Bellahouston Park on Sunday.
Even the overcast sky couldn't dampen runners' spirits, with many running for charity and personal best times.
More than £1million is raised for good causes every year at the event - the largest of its kind in the UK.
First over the line was Kenyan, Vivien Cheruiyot, who scooped the £2000 top prize with a time of 32 minutes and eight seconds.
Lornah Kiplagat, the defending champion and seven-time winner, decided not to run this year after completing the recent London marathon.
The first Scot to finish was elite runner Susan Partridge, 27, from Oban in 34 minutes and 15 seconds.
Lornah Young, 18, was the first junior runner to complete the course recording a time of 38 minutes and four seconds.
Also running was Olympic athlete, Yvonne Murray, who ran with a team of 13 novice runners she had coached to raise awareness of coeliac disease,
an intolerance to gluten, which her daughter Laura suffers from.
