READER David Fitzpatrick of Clydebank takes us back to post-war Kelvinhaugh today.

Back in 1949, the residents of Teviot Street turned out in force to celebrate the Ruby Wedding of their neighbours Mr and Mrs McLean, who stayed at No 24.

Despite the privations of rationing, all the street - the Reid, Rankin and Clark families - pitched in to make sure it was a party to remember. Judging by the smiles, they succeeded.

David's mum Senga Reid is front row, third from the right and his uncle James is front row far right. Also in the photo are his grandparents James and Nancy Reid.
