CONGRATULATIONS to all involved in the wonderful Scotland Sings campaign 2012.

Almost 5000 people signed up all across the country to the event which aims to encourage people to sing in public.

There are lots more events planned for next year, so make sure you check out the website for more details www.scotlandsings.co.uk

WEEK two of the Pavilion Panto The Wizard of Never Woz and things are going amazingly well.

The cast and crew are possibly the nicest and funniest bunch of people I have ever worked with, and the audiences have been fantastic.

Hilarious things have happened so far on stage. One I can talk about is little Toto the dog and its dash for freedom away from the terrifyingly funny Joyce Falconer, left, who plays Miss Gulch, aka The Wicked Witch of the West.

The audience is in stitches every night.

Remember if you haven't got tickets yet, hurry – some performances are already sold out. We run until the January 19.

IT'S official. William and Kate are expecting their first child and already the media and indeed most of the country are going bonkers over the news, even though the mum-to-be is rumoured to be only eight weeks' pregnant.

All of the major news channels ditched their leading stories in favour of the Royal announcement with experts speculating on a variety of things – from where the baby may have been conceived to a US forensic artist publishing pictures of what he or she may look like.

A little bit creepy I thought – although I did think about getting this guy's details so he could do the same for me and my future husband, George Clooney.

There have also been reports of tens of thousands of pounds being bet already on what the baby will be called and sales of souvenir baby furniture, including a £12,000 four poster duchess cot, are set to go through the roof.

I can't help wondering what chance this little bundle of joy stands of a normal childhood with all the attention it's bound to receive, never mind Kate's own wellbeing.

I mean, already the Duchess has been admitted to hospital with severe morning sickness, which could last up to five months.

With the Leveson inquiry still riding high in the news agenda I think we all need to take a step back and perhaps give the Royal couple a little space and allow them to enjoy the amazing experience of being pregnant for the first time and for Kate to concentrate on staying healthy and looking after herself.

One piece of news I was delighted to hear though, was that whether a boy or a girl, Wills and Kate's first born looks set to ascend the throne, although if Kate were to have twins, things could get a little more complicated.

No matter what the outcome, the little one is in for a public life and if Prince Harry is to be made godfather, let's all hope that he doesn't organise a trip to Las Vegas in about 21 years' time for his unsuspecting godchild or I fear they may both wake up, like a scene from The Hangover, with a baby in the wardrobe and a tiger in the bathroom...
