LETTERS – Bedroom tax impact

OUR story last week on bedroom tax misery for 15,000 tenants, sparked a huge response, here are some of the comments...

My son has lived in the same house for 10 years.

Through no fault of his own he suffered an injury at work.

He had to leave his well paid job on a fish farm to receive £60 a week.

Shame on all who think it's an easy life living on benefits.

This is a ridiculous tax and as usual will affect the vulnerable and people who have lived all their lives in the same home.

Have MPs ever lived in the real world or do they all have rose-tinted glasses?

It is time the people of Scotland stood up to these heartless morons.

I have yet to find out just how much I will have to pay from my benefit to make up the shortfall I will receive in Housing Benefit for having one room too many.

It will be just under £11 a week, I think.

My fear is that a concentration on the so-called bedroom tax will distract from the real issue which is the abolition of Housing Benefit to be dissolved into the so-called Universal Credit.

Shocking news. This policy is designed for central London.

It is part of an attempt to take secure tenancies from those who did not buy local homes under Thatcherite subsidies.
