LETTERS - Cap power profiteers

I THINK I've got the answer to the recent price increases proposed by British Gas, EDF and the likes.

Any firm that makes more that £500million in profits should not be allowed to increase the price of their product.

As the wee meerkat would say: 'Simples!'

I'VE started my search for a new tariff for my gas and electricity – and I'm sick of it already.

The energy companies have got a cheek hiking their prices.

How can they expect customers to remain loyal when they continue with these major price increases?

After reading some of the heartbreaking stories about organ donation it must be time for a change in the law.

Presumed consent would, at least, give an opportunity to a lot more people to survive.

As it stands at the moment, grieving relatives are put in the unenviable position of having to make a decision when they feel least like doing it.

The Scottish Government should take notice of the head of steam which is building up and change the law.

What a great idea of councillor Feargal Dalton to give veterans free travel on Glasgow's underground.

After serving their country it seems a small price to pay for us to say thank you.

And if they can do it in London, why can't we do it in Glasgow? I'd vote for it to go through.

WELL done to Billy Connolly for his lifetime achievement award from Bafta (Monday).

I've been a fan of Billy for years and he thoroughly deserves the accolade from Bafta Scotland.

I always end up in stitches when I watch his stand-up routines.

His stories about the shipyards are simply priceless.
