LETTERS - Pitch in to help team

It is ridiculous that the city council didn't offer to clean up the dog fouling on the girls' pitch (Tuesday, above).

They should look at West Dunbartonshire's 'poop scoop' machine, which vacuums up the mess without anyone having to touch it.

IT is ironic that Glasgow City Council is opposing development at Braehead in fear of competition.

It is our own council which has driven shoppers out of the city centre, through high parking fee charges and 24/7 bus lanes.

IN reply to the letter (March 1), the "so called" animal lover is quite clearly one who realises that humans must share the planet with wildlife, and help them when we can.

Foxes are spreading over the city, but it's our own fault for building so many houses on their natural habitat.

I would rather have the foxes than the rubbish on the streets.

Foxes are part of this world, so get used to it and leave them alone.

IT'S great to see more big name retailers are being attracted to the Buchanan Quarter (Wednesday).

Hopefully by encouraging stores such as Vans and Evans Cycles to Glasgow, we will keep the city's reputation as a top spot for shopping.

I HOPE the resurfacing work will be the end to constant roadworks in Renfrew Street.

I would be surprised if Glasgow City Council isn't inundated with bills for new tyres from drivers who have had to drive along this part of the street while the work has been going on.
