He obviously is not a driver or owns a car.
He does not realise that motorists pay road tax worth hundreds of millions per year, for what?
We also pay the most tax in Europe for fuel, again why?
The state of our roads are a disgrace and not down to the motorist, but the Government, who is happy to milk the cash cow, but give nothing back.

I WAS more than happy when I realised that Renfrew Street was being resurfaced, for too long it had been a pothole disaster area.
But driving along the nice, new, smooth surface I happened to notice that the place where the work ended is just where the big drain cover is situated.
And now, just two weeks after completion of the work, there is a definite dip starting to appear.
I guess it's just a matter of, 'wait and see' and if it does start to collapse again then I suppose we will go through the whole nightmare road closure situation again.
Or, the council could send out the road repair people again and fix it properly!

THE phone-hacking situation obviously caused a rightful condemnation, but that does not mean the newspaper industry should be controlled by MPs or any other government initiative.
If it was left to the likes of them we would never have found out about their expense fiddles and other abominable acts they and others in the public domain.
They would rather we were kept in the dark about.
