LETTERS - Wheels of in-justice

I ATTENDED court this week to support a friend who is seeking the return of his security deposit for a flat.

This is the fourth time the case has been called due to the protracted workings of the legal system.

At the end of the day, my friend will have lost more in wages than he can recoup from the return of his deposit.

Some common sense needs to be applied to these procedures to streamline them and make them fair, rather than a job creation exercise for solicitors and judges.

BOY, does the Evening Times give good prizes!

Me, my daughter, my son and his friend all had a fantastic time at Disney On Ice.

We were treated to a buffet, face paints, balloon art, free bar, had our photo taken with Mickey and Minnie and a got a great goodie bag – all this before the show even started, which, by the way, we all loved.

Thank you, Evening Times, for making our prize so memorable.

I HOPE the new Saltire Card will be like the London Oyster card, which takes no more than a second to register – unlike our concession card, which is like watching slow motion.

And why is there a need to issue a ticket when the card is valid? This only further slows down the process.

London buses move on from the stops much more quickly, but their buses have a much more sensible separate exit door – would that be too complicated for us Scots?

Party talk

AS I watch the Labour Party Conference, I'm getting a bit dismayed.

Margaret Curran and Johann Lamont start almost every speech with what the SNP are doing, will do, might do and so forth.

Would it not be nice if they spoke about what Labour would do? They come across as obsessed with the SNP. It makes me wonder if they are jealous or afraid.
