POINTS OF VIEW: Drink dealers’ fire risk

The call for a crackdown on ‘booze bandits’ (March 28) means nothing.

Alcoholics will always be able to get their hands on drink.

What’s more concerning about the story is that some of these ‘dial-a-drink’ suppliers must be keeping large stocks of booze, and cash, in their homes.

Not only are their illegal supply scams against the law, but surely they are putting their neighbours at an increased fire risk by storing large amounts of flammables in their homes. Name and address supplied Classic Kylie I disagree with Jonathan Geddes’s review of Kylie’s Aphrodite show (March 29). We had a wonderful time at the event. Kylie started by emerging from a giant shell and before long was riding over the crowd’s heads on a giant angel. At one point she had the dancers spinning on a near vertical stage, a spectacle in itself. When she finished with an awesome water show on her song All the Lovers, the crowd went wild. It was a night I’ll remember all my life. Stephen Knight, Via e-mail Neil’s sad tale I’ve always liked actor Neil Morrissey but never knew he was brought up in a care home. His BBC2 show had me in tears thinking about all the kids left on their own. Neil deserves a medal for having survived his childhood and made such a success of his life.
