Stacey Solomon will be leading the charge when The X Factor bandwagon rolls into Glasgow today. The Essex girl with the voice Simon Cowell called “really, really good” will be at the SECC tonight and tomorrow.

It will be a homecoming of sorts, as the dizzy 20-year-old revealed on one of the X Factor shows that she has relatives in Scotland ... though she doesn’t remember exactly where in the country her auntie Heather and uncle Jim live.

“All I know is it’s a really big house in the countryside. They say it’s the best place ever,” she giggled.

“They’re gonna come to the show, so that will be really cool.”

Stacey is joined in the live tour of the TV show by contestants Olly Murs, Danyl Johnson, Lucie Jones, Lloyd Daniels, Jamie Archer plus winner Joe McElderry.

Then of course there’s Jedward – twins John and Edward.

The madcap Irish brothers have, according to reviews so far, been wowing the crowds with their out of tune antics.

But Stacey says she’s not bitter that they’ve landed a record deal, while she’s still waiting for the phone to ring.

“I think they’re lovely. I get on really well with them. They’ve worked really, really hard and I think if you’re a good person – and they are really good people – then why shouldn’t you get something good?” she says in her typical breathless style. “I just work really hard so we’ll see how it goes.

“Obviously I’d love to end up in the same place as Alexandra Burke and JLS. That’s what everyone ultimately wants, but there are other things you can do and you can’t really complain.”

The latest finalist to get a record deal is Olly Murs, who has been signed by Simon Cowell’s label.

Stacey was said by tabloids to be dating Olly, who became this year’s show heart-throb, but she says it’s a load of rubbish.

“We’re not going out. Sorry. We never had a thing. We don’t fancy each other.”

But one man Stacey does have in tow on the tour is her son Zach, who is almost two.

And she says it was having him which made her more determined to chase pop stardom.

“My immediate reaction was ‘Oh no that’s never going to happen now’, but as with everything you think ‘It’s got to happen ‘ as you work even more and think ‘There’s no way I’m getting stuck with nothing and then my baby can’t have nothing either.”

Stacey performs Queen’s Who Wants To Live Forever?, Queen of the Night by Whitney Houston and Coldplay’s The Scientist on the tour, which also sees the contestants sing together.

She also sings the song which catapulted her to reality show fame after her first audition, Wonderful World.

And while other contestants have spoken out over judge Cheryl Cole’s split from Ashley Stacey refused to comment.

“It’s none of my business. As long as she’s happy, good for her.”
