The Glasgow Community Champion Awards for the west and central areas uncovered a wealth of people going the extra mile to make their part of the city a better place to be.
All ages were represented and made up a group of finalists that proved a difficult choice for the judges to separate.
The senior pupils in both Hillhead High and Jordanhill schools show year after year through their charity committees that they think of more than just themselves, raising thousands of pounds for good causes.
The older generation showed they still have plenty to give and teach with Eric Flack coaching tennis and Kate Semple volunteering into her seventh decade.
Whether it is crime fighting, volunteering or running sports clubs the west and central areas came up trumps and their communities turned out to say thanks.
Without these people, and the many more who were nominated, our city would not be as strong as it is and thankfully the young people are being inspired to continue the good work of their elders.
All our champions deserve our praise and when you consider how strong the finalists and nominations were that's quite a feat.
