OPINION: Let's take city Streets Ahead again

LAST year the award-winning Streets Ahead campaign helped mobilise communities and kick started projects all over Glasgow.

So what do you do when the will to make the city better, demand for help with cash and expertise is high and the offer of help is available from those in the know.

Obviously, you do it all over again. So today we launch the second year of our Evening Times Streets Ahead campaign.

We couldn't have done it without the help of our campaign partners and this year will be no different as the support of Glasgow City Charitable Trust, Glasgow Housing Association, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue and Glasgow City Council's Clean Glasgow will be invaluable.

Again we are looking for the people of Glasgow to come forward with ideas, get involved and become a Street Champion to help coordinate projects in your area.

Last year we helped with a variety of projects and again are calling on your ideas for Streets Ahead to help you make a difference on your doorstep.

Last year £13,000 in grants was distributed to dozens of groups and this year we want more people to get involved.

The difference Streets Ahead made was visible in many communities, so let's do it all again... and make Glasgow even better.
