OPINION - Your help is needed to build hospice

FOR 30 years the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice has offered a lifeline to people with terminal illness and provided support for the patients and their families.

To continue that outstanding and essential service the Hospice must modernise and move out of the site on the banks of the River Clyde to a new state of the art facility, with a site at Bellahouston Park already identified.

However, in order to make the move, £15million needs to be raised and for that the hospice needs your help.

The Evening Times is backing the appeal and is encouraging our readers to do the same and give your support in any way you can.

Of course times are tough and everyone has less cash at their disposal, but the worries of many pales into insignificance when compared to those in need of the services the hospice provides.

People find peace and support from the hospice staff and therapies to make their last days as comfortable as possible.

We will be right behind the Brick By Brick campaign and providing updates on the fundraising effort as it progresses.

The people of Glasgow and readers of the Evening Times have a long and proud history of supporting good causes and we are sure that will continue as we build brick by brick to reach the target.
