Glasgow has to get fitter and has to get healthier, which is why the Evening Times is taking a lead with Glas-goals
So, it is encouraging news that thousands of children are taking up sport and are getting expert coaching through schools.
The sports that will feature in the Commonwealth Games will expect to see an increase in interest as they receive more coverage.
However we do not need to wait until 2014 for that, we can start now and grow a new generation of healthy young people.
Everyone can play a part by getting active, and by encouraging children to take part in the variety of sports on offer, and we will all be better off as a result.
Museum will be back only better
It is true you don’t know what you’ve got till its gone and the Transport Museum is an example of that.
The rush of visitors after the closure date was revealed, shows how popular this Glasgow institution is with people wanting a last look around.
But fear not, all the old favourites, and many new stunning exhibits, will be in place at the new Riverside Museum next year.
It will be worth the wait.
