Today the Evening Times launches a year-long campaign aimed at tackling Glasgow’s appalling health record.
We’re going to kick-start health and fitness projects across the city and make a real difference to people’s health.
But we can’t do it without your help. We need as many people as possible to get involved to help score the Glas-goals, our healthy targets for a healthy Glasgow.
The Glas-goals of walking or running a million miles, stubbing out a million cigarettes and shedding half a million pounds in weight are ambitious. But they can all be achieved over the next 12 months if we work together.
Glas-goals will be getting involved with established events like the Women’s 10k, Sport Relief and the Great Scottish Run.
But we are also planning a series of new events, with the emphasis on fun participation for all ages.
Keep reading our campaign coverage and log on to our website – www.eveningtimes.co.uk – to find out more details of how you can get involved.
You can also email us at glasgoals@heraldandtimes.co.uk if you want to take part.
Working with communities across the city and our key partners, Glasgow City Council, Culture and Sport Glasgow, Glasgow Housing Association and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Glas-goals can make a real difference.
