The suicide of two men and a woman at Red Road is undoubtedly a terrible tragedy.

The circumstances leading to this horrific incident must be fully investigated and any lessons that can be identified need to be learned.

Clearly these people, like many others housed in the flats, have been living in uncertainty and under immense pressure in unfamiliar surroundings.

The exact nature of what drove them to this most tragic and desperate of acts may never be fully understood.

However, whatever support is necessary must be afforded to those in similar circumstances, in the hope we can avoid any more needless loss of lives.

New logo to put Glasgow on map

Glasgow’s 2014 logo is a distinctive image that will become an important part of the city’s international profile in the coming years.

It is also good news it has been designed by a Glasgow firm, and at a fraction of a price of the London 2012 logo.

The image and the brand will allow the organising committee to promote the event around the world.

Now they need to redouble their efforts to ensure they deliver the best Games ever.
