POINTS OF VIEW: Area will need school

I READ with interest about the plans to demolish London Road School, this is a fine building and should be restored for future use.

It seems the council is being short sighted here, as in two years time, after the Commonwealth Games, the athletes' village will be home to a lot of new families, and these families will need a school for their children.

If this school is demolished it will then mean that a new school will have to be built.

Name and address supplied.

I BELIEVED that to tamper with a car's mileage was illegal, yet today I saw an advertisement "to correct your digital mileage".

This puts a new slant on used car ads.

How can, "low mileage, one lady owner," ever ring true again?

Makes you think.

WE just read the story (September 10) about the decision to remove the fence around Drumchapel Baptist Church.

Rev Thomson's faith and trust that the local community will respect the church grounds is uplifting, and we can't wait to see the garden when it's finished.

From the McIlroys and Marritts

On a lovely bright evening my daughter and I decided to drive to Victoria Park to see the beautiful flower displays, but as we approached the park there was nowhere to park our car, as thousands of people had converged on Scotstoun Stadium to watch the Glasgow Warriors play.

We drove past the park with great difficulty as cars were parked on both sides of the road, making it very narrow and also difficult for the No 44 buses to negotiate.

We could see that the old red blaes football pitches at Westland Drive were lying empty.

Surely it should be used as a car park when there are events on at Scotstoun Stadium?

How many other people like us could not enjoy their walk in the park? It must also be a nightmare for residents.
