Within minutes the hotel manager had called an ambulance.
The paramedics were efficient and reassuring in ascertaining the severity of my husband's condition and soon we were transported to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Once there we were seen immediately and the A&E department staff were quick to respond and give medication to treat what in fact had been a heart attack.
All the staff were efficient, caring and thoughtful and at each stage kept us informed.
Once transferred to the Cardiology Ward my husband received excellent care and treatment from Professor Rankin and his team.
We would like to thank all the people who had some part in helping and treating my husband.

FOR sheer stupidity you could not beat the King's Theatre charging a mum £11 to have her baby on her knee (Weekend Times).
It has clearly ruined many families' day out.
I think you will find Peppa Pig more sensible than the people who follow unsensible rules.
It is clearly just a ploy to get £11 more out of families.

I WAS chuffed to bits to see Michael Jamieson's success at the Olympic Games this week.
I've been very impressed every time I've heard the level-headed lad speak on television.
He seems focused and intent on enjoying every moment of his time at the Games in London.
I'm sure he will be an inspiration to many in the years to come and will be a winner at the 2014 Games in Glasgow
WHAT a well-deserved winner Elissa Crorken was in the Evening Times' Star Turn contest.
She thoroughly deserved the accolade and I'm sure this is just the start for the young lady. It goes to show what great talent Glasgow has.
