Twice in the past few years they have caused damage to my cars.

One was reversing and forgot she had the spare wheel on the back door of her monster. She did more than £3000 worth of damage to my car.

And today another reversed into my car even though I was parked nearly six feet behind her car. She said she couldn't see my car.

Do me a favour, ladies. Stick to a Corsa or a Fiesta.

Parade pride

ON SATURDAY about 50 association members of my old regiment the Scots Greys and the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards were proud to be in my home town of Glasgow to take part in Armed Forces Day Parade.

Not only did Glasgow welcome us, so too did the Royal Highland Fusiliers, who gave us use of their club.

After the parade we were invited into the Glasgow City Chambers for refreshments with other ex servicemen.

And the rain stayed away, someone up there was looking after us.

Debt growing

A SURVEY says Scots families are facing the hardest times in a decade as the recession plunges increasing numbers into poverty and debt.

The soaring cost of living, falling wages and public sector cuts have driven ordinary households to the brink.

One in four now say they are struggling to stay afloat financially.

But worse news is that families are turning to high-interest credit or pay-day loans – making their situation worse.
