THERE might be nine days to go before the stars gather in London for the Bafta TV awards, but you can bet the preparations are well underway to ensure that the small screen's leading lights look like big stars.

The annual industry bash is guaranteed to produce a procession of glittering gowns and fabulous frocks.

And shoppers in Glasgow are being offered the chance to buy into a little of the red carpet glamour by visiting House of Fraser, which is the Arqiva British Academy Television Awards' official style partner.

In the build-up to the event, the store is offering up to 30% off chic brands including, Biba, Untold, Linea and Pied A Terre in addition to many of its eveningwear concessions.

Ahead of the ceremony, we asked House of Fraser's in-house stylist Emma-jo Montgomery to showcase some of the store's dazzling dresses.

The wood-panelled boardroom of the Buchanan Street store, with its ornate Victorian fireplace and leaded glass windows, provided the perfect setting.

The awards' official make-up partner, Mac, was on hand to make Emma-jo red carpet-ready – finished off with a slick of vibrant red Lady Danger lipstick.

Part-time model Emma-jo, 22, from Stewarton, said: "These dresses are very glamorous and very chic. You feel good in them.

"I think women like dressing up. It gives them that certain confidence if they're going to something special.

"I liked the red dress best. The fabric is really nice and there's good movement in it."

Glasgow's small-screen stars will be well represented at the TV awards, to be hosted by comedian Graham Norton at London's Royal Festival Hall.

Actor Peter Capaldi is nominated for his roles in BBC2 drama The Hour and Armando Iannucci's The Thick of It, while the sharp political satire is also nominated for best situation comedy.

Prices shown are pre-Bafta discount. The promotion ends May 16.
