Is there anything that Scarlett Johansson can’t turn her hand to?
While the hot young Hollywood starlets prepare to limber up on the red carpet for Oscar night this Sunday, it’s looking likely that the 25-year-old star of He’s Just Not That Into You and Lost In Translation will have her eyes on another coveted statuette.
The actress has been tipped as a contender for a Best Actress gong at America’s top theatre honours the Tony Awards for her Broadway debut in a revival of Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge.
It’s the latest career incarnation for the New York-born blonde bombshell. Scarlett has won plaudits for her acting, her comic timing on Saturday Night Live with hubby Ryan Reynolds and her singing while recording an album of Tom Waits covers.
She’s also the face of Dolce & Gabbana cosmetics and a brand ambassador for L’Oreal.
Here she demonstrates yet another string to her bow, this time modelling for the third time for Spanish fashion chain Mango, having replaced screen siren Penelope Cruz, with whom she shared a kiss in last year’s Oscar-winning Woody Allen comedy Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
The Spring/Summer collection, captured in the Big Apple by acclaimed photographer Mario Sorrenti, is designed with a retro 40s maritime feel.
It celebrates classic feminine shapes: a striped playsuit, a floral prom dress, and a gathered lace smock dress contrasted with the masculine appeal of a trench-inspired belted dress, the relaxed lines of a denim shirt-dress and the functional direction of a khaki playsuit with statement belt.
Scarlett said: “I see Mango as a casual firm, with lots of combinations of garments, fresh and youthful.”
