Time to nominate a true inspiration

THE search is on to find the inspirational woman who will be crowned the Evening Times' 50th Scotswoman of the Year.

There's still time to nominate your heroes.

It could be someone who has fundraised for charity, overcome great personal hardships, tirelessly given up their own time for others or a woman who has shattered the glass ceiling. The only requirement is that they have inspired others in some way.

Nominations are coming in thick and fast - so if you know someone who deserves to take the title, make sure you do not miss out on the chance to tell us all about her.

Recent recipients include Edinburgh lawyer and meningitis campaigner Olivia Giles, Scotstoun asylum seeker dawn raid activists Jean Donnachie and Noreen Real, actress and muscular dystrophy campaigner Eileen McCallum and, posthumously, Dunblane heroine Gwen Mayor.

To nominate, email lyndsay.wilson@heraldandtimes.co.uk, visit our website, www.eveningtimesevents.com/scotswoman, or call in to the Scotswoman @ 50 exhibition in the St Enoch Centre (beside Mamas and Papas).

An exhibition marking our golden jubilee of honouring remarkable women across Scotland is on display at the St Enoch Centre, situated in the unit next to Mamas and Papas.

You can also nominate anyone you'd like to see recognised by filling in an entry form at the exhibition.

For more information, call 0141 302 7407.
