Peter Pan: The Never Ending Story, is based on the classic children's story written by Scots author JM Barrie.

It will come to Glasgow in late summer.

For Stacey, it's the latest development in a career which has seen the shy, Essex girl become a national celebrity.

After her X Factor stint, in which she came third, Stacey went on to appear in the 10th series of I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here!, where she was voted Queen of the Jungle.

More recently she was the TV face of a frozen foods campaign.

However, the 23-year-old mum-of-two is happy to be singing again.

She said: "Singing and performing is a huge passion of mine and to be asked to be one of my children's favourite characters is such an honour.

"I can't wait to see their faces when I come flying out on stage."

Peter Pan: The Never Ending Story, has been adapted by musical director Matt Dunkley, a driving force behind music for Moulin Rouge, Black Swan and Inception.

A spokesman for the production, which will be staged in five major UK cities, said: "The show will combine classic hits by the likes of Robbie Williams, Seal and Rod Stewart to create a truly impressive soundtrack."

In her role as Tinker Bell, Stacey will narrate the show and sing the pop classic, You Raise Me Up.

Show boss Geert Allaert said: "Stacey is the ideal candidate for the role of Tinker Bell."
