Don't just save your roast for a Sunday. This week, Yelp Glasgow brings you 10 spots to try all kinds of roasts - fish, chicken, beef and even a quick takeaway lunch option!
The Butchershop Bar & Grill, 1055 Sauchiehall Street, Finnieston G3 7UD
Tafelspitz features on the Sunday roast menu - a 35-day dry aged roast of beef for £35 between 2 people. Bex M raves "the meat was cooked to perfection, the sides of usual roast trimmings including an epic Yorkshire pud were all amazing and the macaroni was delish!"
Cail Bruich West, 725 Great Western Road, Glasgow West End G12 8QX
Sunday lunch features "roast Chateaubriand of Scotch beef, duck fat potatoes, baked carrot, Yorkshire pudding, jus and roti" as part of the set menu. Why not finish it off with sticky toffee and date pudding?
Curler's Rest, 256 Byres Road, Glasgow West End G12 8SH
Lynne M loves the roast here. "The absolute best time to go is on a Sunday, and experience one of their incredible roast dinners. The chicken roast is half a whole chicken, and the plates are full to bursting!"
Fanny Trollopes, 1066 Argyle Street, Finnieston G3 8LY
For something different, try out the "slow roast shank of Glenfarg lamb, marinated with garlic & thyme, colcannon potatoes with a roast shallots reduction" on the a la carte menu for £15.95.
Gamba, 225a West Regent Street, Glasgow City Centre G2 2ND
If seafood is more your catch, the "whole pan roasted black banded sea bream, wok fried peppers, brown shrimp, garlic rapeseed oil, sweet soy" is dished up for £18.50.
The Grill on the Corner, 21 Bothwell Street, Glasgow City Centre G2 6NL
If you're in on a Sunday, Austen M recommends the roast - "all 3 of them are good, tasty, big portions and perfect for sharing!" Options include roasted beef, roasted half chicken and roasted pork with crackling for £12.95!
Guy's, 24 Candleriggs, Merchant City Glasgow G1 1TD
"Veal T-bone from the Scottish Borders, griddled & oven roasted and served with spinach" is just one of the roast options here. There's also roasted lamb rump or a fillet of sea bass with a roasted red pepper sauce.
The Hill, 94 Byres Road, Glasgow West End G12 8TB
Christina M went for the "Sunday roast" - "it was lovely, plenty of roast beef, roast potatoes AND chips, Yorkshire puds and seasonal vegetables." They also have cocktails on draft.
Hotel du Vin, 1 Devonshire Gardens, Glasgow West End G12 0UX
For a fancy Sunday lunch, opt for the £24.95 4-course menu featuring Roast Du Vin - rib of beer or Normandy chicken with trimmings and Yorkshires! There's also a French market table with fresh seafood, pâtés and breads.
Roast, 1299 Argyle Street, Finnieston G3 8TL
If you like your roast portable, you can pop in for lunch here and pick up a roll and a cup of freshly roasted coffee! Goat's cheese, tomato and chilli chutney with roasted peppers on rosemary focaccia sounds too good to be true!
