THE location of the first branch of Mexican fast food giant Taco Bell in Glasgow has been revealed.

Taco Bell will take over the former Bradfords Bakery unit in the city's Sauchiehall Street and those behind the venture say it is the first restaurant from the chain in Scotland.

The restaurant is expected to open before Christmas and the menu will feature the famous eats popular in Taco Bell restaurants all over the world including the Crunchwrap Supreme, quesadilla, tacos and burritos - all served open so diners can eat with their eyes first.

The store will be operated by The Adil Group who are a new franchisee to Taco Bell and key partners in bringing Taco Bell to Scotland.

The group plan to bring a number of Scotland stores over the next five years.

Ellen Gault, Marketing Manager at Taco Bell UK and Europe, said: “We’ve seen so much love for Taco Bell in the UK, but the fact that to date we have only opened restaurants in England has been a contentious topic.

"We’ve had a number of super loyal fans travelling down from Scotland to Manchester for their taco fix so it was only a matter of time before we made the move across the border.

"Glasgow seemed like the perfect place to start and we look forward to welcoming Glaswegians through our doors to experience delicious Mexican-inspired food.”

Taco Bell say they are hunting for their biggest fan and more information will be announced on social media Twitter, Instagram and Facebook at @TacoBellUK.
