A POPULAR supermarket store will close in Glasgow's East End for refurbishment.
Lidl will shut their Baillieston store on Saturday until May 17.
The Main Street store closure means fans of the supermarket chain will have to travel to Uddingston or Tollcross for their nearest shop.
A new bespoke bakery, external trolley bay, energy efficient LED lighting, both internally and externally, a fully glazed shopfront and newly paved car park are all part of the refurbishment plans. There will also be improved welfare facilities for the staff.
Gordon Rafferty, head of property for Lidl Scotland said: “We constantly review our store portfolio to ensure stores are up to date with our current specification.
"We also look at areas of stores, regardless of age, to ensure that the customer always has a positive shopping experience.”
