PLANS have been approved for a new dessert restaurant in Shawlands - despite residents objecting.
The new restaurant offering desserts with take-away facility will open in Pollokshaws Road after full planning permission subject to conditions was granted.
Residents had complained about the proposal and were concerned about cooking smells, storage of commercial waste, noise pollution, over provision of restaurant, cafes and take-aways in the area, litter, anti-social behaviour and vandalism, health and well-being, property value and fire risk.
The property, previously occupied by a Polish dairy, has been empty since March 2015.
The quality eatery promised to offer a vfull range of desserts, sweets, pastries other fried foods such as doughnuts, as well as coffee, tea and other beverages.
