A LEADING supermarket chain will reopen its doors in Crookston after a refurbishment.
Lidl will open on Crookston Road at 8am on Thursday with Councillor Rashid Hussain performing the official ceremony.
The new look supermarket forms part of the company’s ongoing expansion and regeneration plans in the UK which will see its existing store portfolio of 700 stores increase to up to 1,500.
The fully refurbished store boasts state-of-the-art facilities including a new look in-store bakery, energy efficient LED lighting, both internally and externally, and improved welfare facilities for the staff.
Gordon Rafferty, Lidl UK’s Head of Property for Scotland, said: “As our strong sales growth continues we are constantly reinvesting into both building new stores and improving our store base. We are very excited to reopen our Crookston store following refurbishment and look forward to once again serving our multi-award winning products to the local community.”
The refurbishment of the Crookston store will add to Lidl’s existing store portfolio In the UK of 700, and will form part of the company’s growth plans, which will see it open up to 60 new stores a year across the UK.
