A POPULAR Love Island star enjoyed ice-cream at one of the city's most famous cafes.

The ITV 2 show's voice man Iain Stirling popped into Jaconelli's Cafe in Maryhill to sample their unique recipe.

Glasgow Times:

The cafe, on Maryhill Road, posted an image of Iain on their social media and said: "Love Island guy, Iain Stirling popped into Jaconelli's for some of Mario’s original recipe ice-cream, still made to the same exact recipe since 1924."

Iain is not the only famous fan of Jaconelli's as Trainspotting director Danny Boyle also enjoyed sweet treats at the eatery when he was making T2.

In 2015, Edinburgh-born Iain became the narrator for hit ITV 2 series Love Island, which returned this week.

The 30-year-old is now based in London and is popular in the stand-up circuit.

Eleven singles looking for romance entered the villa on the Spanish island of Majorca in the first instalment of the show on Monday.

The new group of contestants includes Danny Dyer’s daughter, a doctor who is taking some time away from the accident and emergency ward, a design engineer and a model.
