Community Champions

The Glasgow Community Champion Awards has launched and the search has begun for the heroes of2012.

Over the past three years we have rewarded more than 160 community champions from across the city and now we want to hear more about the people who make our city great.

The Evening Times is delighted to once again be working in partnership with Glasgow City Council, GlasgowCommunity Planning Partnership, Glasgow Housing Association, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue andStrathclyde Police, who will each assist in our search for this year’s champions.

This year we have made changes to the categories with the aim of rewarding even more groups and individuals.

So whether you or someone you know has made a difference by caring for others, campaigning for better services, or in general creating a positive environment, we want you to tell us about it.

A series of five events will take place across the city and residents will have the chance to celebrate their local heroes, as well as the opportunity to meet with the awards partners.

The winners from each local event will automatically be selected as finalists for a prestigious awards ceremony to be held in the City Chambers in December 2012.

We wish you the best of luck with your entry and look forward to meeting at the events in the coming months.
