The Evening Times Scotswoman of the Year is a celebration of the accomplishments of women from across Scotland.
We are once again delighted to show our support to the unsung Scottish women who make the world a better place. In 2012 we will celebrate the 49th event in the magnificent surroundings of the City Chambers on Thursday, February 9. It is an opportunity to recognise the talents and achievements of some of Scotland’s most remarkable women.
From top flight businesswomen to compassionate carers; from scientists working on breakthroughs to teachers nurturing tomorrow's leaders; from record breaking sportswomen to your local lollipop lady, the aim of the event is to acknowledge our debt for their, often, selfless and unacknowledged hardwork.
Scotland has many inspirational women in many walks of life. And it is right and fitting that we celebrate and honour their work and contributions. Every one of our winners over the decades from recent inspirational winners Doctor Margo Whiteford and Olivia Giles to last year’s recipient Eileen McCallum and Dunblane heroine Gwen Mayor has been an outstanding individual.
And what better way to pay tribute to these inspirational women than at the Scotswoman of the Year Awards. The Evening Times is proud that we have celebrated their contributions for almost half a century and we look forward to doing so for many years to come.
