A DISC containing a horrific video of a soldier being executed by Islamic extremists was found hidden in the house of a terror suspect, a court heard.

The CD, taken from Mohammed Siddique's family home, also showed a dead US Navy officer being robbed.

The dramatic clips were shown during Siddique's trial at the High Court in Glasgow.

The jury watched as a person was dragged out of a car by men in muslim dress and bundled into a van.

The words Capture of a pig in Karzai' featured at the bottom of the screen.

It then cut to a man in combat clothes - thought to be the person taken from the car - crouching down with his hands tied and his face covered.

He is kicked over before the camera pans away and two loud gunshots are heard.

The word executed' then flashed up on the screen.

Brian McConnachie QC, prosecuting, warned the jury they were going to view "unpleasant images" as he showed the clip of the dead navy official.

The man is filmed lying on the ground in a remote area with his face heavily bloodied.

Masked men surround him before one snatches a watch from the dead man's wrist.

A number of items, including a broken laptop and helmets, are then shown on screen being placed on the ground .

A US Navy photo identity card belonging to an officer called Danny is held in front of the camera.

As reported in later editions of yesterday's Evening Times, the court earlier heard it was highly unlikely that other extremist Islamic propaganda was planted on a laptop belonging to Siddique.

It was seized at Glasgow Airport on April 5, last year, as he was about to jet out to Pakistan.

Footage found on it showed Osama Bin Laden calling for holy war, the Twin Towers exploding and other clips urging young Muslims to become suicide bombers.

Siddique, of Alva in Clackmannanshire, denies all charges.

The trial, before Lord Carloway, continues.
