CLYDE manager John Brown today claimed the horror conditions during his side's 1-1 draw against Livingston at Almondvale were a great advert for summer football.
A Willie McLaren strike ensured Bomber's boys earned a share of the spoils and, although the Broadwood boss was raging at his men's first-half display, he felt both sides deserved credit for attempting to play in the testing conditions.
He said: "It was horrific and, if it is all about attracting more fans to the game, then that is never going to happen in weather like that. Put it this way, there is no way I would take my kids to get lashed by the wind and rain like that.
"When the weather is so bad there is no chance the players can relax and play the game either and it has a negative effect on the end product. But both sides deserve credit for trying to play football."
Brown added: "As far as the game itself went, I thought we weren't up to standard in the first half and I let the lads know that in no uncertain terms at the interval and we got a response.
"The only positive from the first period was Willie McLaren's goal. Pat Clarke also had a decent chance and, on another day, we may have taken three points.
"But, after the first half, a draw may have been a fair result."
Morton boss Davie Irons reckons Dundee have veteran former Celtic keeper Rab Douglas to thank for helping Jocky Scott's side earn a 0-0 draw at Dens Park.
The Ton boss said: "We did everything but score and Dundee have Rab to thank for that. We also hit the woodwork with Stevie Masterton's free-kick and we created enough chances to win the game.
"On the other hand, we have kept a clean sheet and earned a point and that is a positive thing after a game at Dens Park. Really, however, it would have been three but for Douglas."
