THE Challenge Cup Final will be screened live on Gaelic TV this season after the SFL agreed a sponsorship deal with media firm MG Alba.
The Alba Challenge Cup will be shown on a new digital channel which will be launched in conjunction with the BBC later this year.
And SFL chief executive David Longmuir is hoping the six-figure package will help to increase the tournament's profile.
Longmuir said: "We needed to do something to boost the Challenge Cup and get people to come along.
"The Challenge Cup is designed to have a community and family spirit. Now we have a sponsor, it means more money for the clubs."
Meanwhile, the second round draw was made at Hampden yesterday for ties that will be played August 12 or 13.
It is: Alloa v Clyde, Livingston v Forfar, Raith Rovers v Ross County, East Stirling v Morton, Dunfermline v Queen of the South, East Fife v Airdrie United, Partick Thistle v Peterhead, Cowdenbeath v Albion Rovers.
