PASSENGERS at Glasgow Airport got an unexpected musical treat today.
Katy MacKintosh, associate principal oboist with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and her pianist father Graeme entertained with a concert of Scottish, light classical and jazz pieces.
"We decided on the airport because there is a lot of traffic going through it," said Katy. "We thought it would be something unusual for the airport."
Katy's aim is to raise the profile of the Anthony Nolan Trust in its efforts to find more donors for its bone-marrow registry.
Katy's late boyfriend, Simon Triger, donated bone marrow to his twin brothers, both of whom sadly died.
He himself died on Mont Blanc in September.
"We're planning to do a series of events," said Katy. "This is just our first, and we hope to do something in the Buchanan Galleries soon."
