THE LibDems revealed plans today for 2000 extra nurses.
Party leader Nicol Stephen said he wanted to "kick-start a local healthcare revolution".
He said: "My priority for health in Scotland is to deliver faster diagnosis and treatment with new local health centres and extra nurses and dentists to staff them.
"Scottish Liberal Democrats are committed to providing 2000 extra nurses for better local healthcare, with many of these new nurses based in our new local health centres."
The Tories and SNP concentrated their campaign efforts on crime.
Tory deputy leader Murdo Fraser said they wanted to recruit 1500 more police officers He claimed: "Under the Lib-Lab Pact there are, on average, only 147 police officers on the beat at any one time in the whole of Scotland. That is unacceptable.
"For too long now, people in Scotland have put up with a lack of visible policing."
The SNP was setting out its policies for tackling serious and organised crime.
