SHE may work in one of Glasgow's most chic jewellery boutiques, but 29-year-old Marion Barclay admits she would be lost without her Converse trainers.

Marion, from Shawlands, is a regional sales manager at Dower & Hall, in the city's Princes Square.

She studied jewellery design at Glasgow School of Art – and loves glamming up her outfits with statement jewellery.

Marion opened her wardrobe to share her style secrets with RACHEL LOXTON.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE OUTFIT AT THE MOMENT, AND WHY?

Right now I'm in love with autumnal shades, so it would be my tobacco coloured pleated coat from ASOS, and a Pins and Needles dress from Urban Outfitters.

Both designers take inspiration from vintage and costume pieces to create really pretty dresses.

DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?

I would say I'm quite classic, with a quirky edge.

WHERE DO YOU SHOP IN GLASGOW?

For a bit of glamour I love Princes Square, because it has a great range of shops.

I equally like shopping at vintage pop-up markets, like Gin in Teacups, which often comes to the Arches.

WHOSE STYLE DO YOU ADMIRE?

Right now, it's Lana Del Rey, left.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE SHOP IN THE WORLD?

I love Liberty of London. It has the feel of an independent boutique, which I love, eclectic, yet on a department store scale.

Even the building is stunning. I could spend the whole day there, each time you visit treats you to a different experience.

WHAT'S THE MOST EXPENSIVE ITEM IN YOUR WARDROBE?

My Dower & Hall silver cuff, which was £495, and also my Dare to Dream, Dare to Believe locket, which cost £345.

I love the statement. It's silver with 18ct yellow gold vermeil and beautiful engraved detail.

IF YOU HAD TO SAVE ONE ITEM FROM YOUR WARDROBE IN A FIRE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

It might sound ridiculous, but my Converse baseball boots. It would take ages to get a new pair worn in and comfy.

WHAT'S YOUR BIGGEST BARGAIN?

A black and gold, vintage leather and suede belt, which cost £2.

ANY FASHION DISASTERS?

When I was in high school I dyed the ends of my hair bright pink. I don't think I'll be doing that again in a hurry.

HOW HAS YOUR STYLE CHANGED OVER THE YEARS?

I try and wear what suits my figure, not just what's in fashion. I like dresses teamed with ankle boots.

WHAT WAS YOUR LAST PURCHASE?

My Pins and Needle dress, and a rose gold Misanga friendship bracelet from Dower & Hall.

WHAT'S ON YOUR SHOPPING LIST FOR SPRING?

A rose gold pendant from Dower & Hall's new Feather collection.

Rose gold is really on trend right now – and I'm a bit addicted.

ARE YOU A HOARDER OR AN OFF-LOADER?

My mum would say a hoarder. Fashions come and go, then come back again so you need to be careful about being too hasty to off-load. But I reckon if I haven't worn something in a couple of years it is definitely time to let it go.

WHAT WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO HAVE IN YOUR WARDROBE?

A Mulberry Alexa snake print satchel would be nice.

SHARE A FASHION SECRET?

Always accessorise. With the right jewellery you can easily turn a simple outfit into something amazing. It's a good way of turning your day look into evening glamour.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE GLASGOW STYLE?

Fashion forward, individual and not afraid to try something different.

HOW MANY PAIRS OF SHOES DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR WARDROBE, AND WHERE ARE THEY FROM?

I own more boots than shoes. Being from a wet, rainy city they are essential. I have lots from charity and vintage shops but my favourite pair right now are black leather lace ups, with gold snaffle eyelets, from Schuh.

WHAT ABOUT HANDBAGS?

I carry a little, brown, school satchel most of the time.
