WELL 2013 arrived in spectacular fashion for me as I celebrated the bells with my sister Maria and friends at the beautiful Mulberry Street in Shawlands dressed as a Bond girl.

And fear not, no bikini was worn in the course of that New Year's Party, where I was singing Auld Lang Syne at the top of my voice while drinking champers straight from the bottle.

This is the year I am 33, not a particularly significant age I suppose, but I do feel that I've reached a bit of a crossroads in my life.

So I decided to do something I've never ever really done seriously before... I decided to make three New Year's Resolutions, write them down and seal them in an envelope to be opened on the December 31, 2013.

It's not that I want to keep the resolutions a secret as such – in fact I will happily share them with you now.

But it was more the ritual of sitting down and seriously thinking about my goals and what I want to achieve this year.

Having some sort of plan, if you like, because to be perfectly honest with you, everything that has happened to me in the past nine years has been a mixture of hard work, being in the right place at the right time and being on extremely good terms with lovely lady luck herself.

Do any of us really make our New Year Reso-lutions with the intent of actually seeing them through or is it just something we do to make ourselves feel better after all the over-indulging during the festive season?

Well, I suppose this is my year to find out.

Here are my three resolutions for 2013:

Lose weight

Go to New York

I've been so lucky in my life to have travelled to some amazing places but I can't believe I haven't managed to get to the Big Apple yet, so before the year is out I'm planning on having a cosmopolitan or two in the Upper East Side and run like Phoebe in Friends through Central Park.

Get back to singing

Performing in the Panto at the Pavilion Theatre for the past two months has really shown me how much I've missed singing live to a packed audience.

I've decided this year I'm going to get back into the studio and record some music. I am also looking into maybe doing some live shows in Glasgow over the next year, so watch this space.

So only time will tell if I manage to achieve all of my resolutions.

But one thing's for sure – I have a wonderful feeling about 2013.

I can't help hoping that when I look back in years to come I will be remembering this year as the year that changed everything for me.

And I hope it's equally good for you all.

I can't believe I only have just over one week left of playing the Good Witch Glinda in the Pavilion's Wizard of Never Woz.

I have honestly had the best time ever working with the amazing cast and crew, and will definitely shed a tear when it all comes to an end on January 19. If you haven't seen the show, yet this really is your last chance. Trust me, you don't want to miss it!
