The news that Chambre 69 will close its doors after Saturday's party has shocked clubbers and the industry alike.

The announcement was made on Monday and, as of 3am this Sunday, the club will be no more, at least at its current Nelson Mandela Place location.

So tomorrow and Saturday are your final opportunities for one last dance in the sweaty bunker.

Tomorrow AliOOFT, Tanner, All Caps and Void go back to back telling a tale of two cities: old school Chicago house and Detroit techno reign all night.

On Saturday the Missing Persons Club present London's Tom Russell, or Truss, under his MPIA3 alias.

Out of nowhere he has released two EPs of old school rave-inspired techno and it is this he will be dropping as the soundtrack to the Chambre's swansong. Support comes from MPC residents Wax Works and Simon Bryan.

l Chicago vs. Detroit: Chambre 69 Closing Party, tomorrow, 11pm – 3am, £3 before midnight, £5 after.

l Missing Persons Club with MPIA3, Saturday, Chambre 69, 11pm – 3am, free before midnight, £5 after.

Cassette treat

FLEDGLING Glasgow label Handpicked is launching its first release with an 11-hour, two-part party on Saturday.

The cassette-only compilation Suite Beats is a collection of instrumental tracks from Scottish producers, ranging from hip-hop to woozy, synth-led house to fat, squelching beats.

The first leg begins at The Art School on Saturday afternoon, with live sets from many of the artists featured on the tape.

Among them will be "Dream Step" producer Alex Cameron aka ARM WTCHS FNGRS, spinner of sparse hip-hop Chris Martin (no, not that one) aka Cheeky Forty, and Bessa.

At 11pm the party decants to Saint Judes basement, where the chaps from I Hate Fun will be testing the enormous Funktion 1 soundsystem alongside Inkke and Mr Tuner, both of whom also feature on Suite Beats.

All the artists and info on how to get your hands on the limited edition tape are at: hndpckd.co.uk
