THE cream of the Glasgow techno world are holding a club night with a difference to support a local charity.

Clubbers who attend the Start from Scratch event will get the chance to browse at a special pop-up boutique hosted by recycling charity, Starter Packs.

Paisley DJ and one of the Start from Scratch founders, Joe McColl said: "We're holding the event over two floors and there will be a function suite where the shop will sell all sorts of different things as we play music.

"Our club night starts afterwards.

"It's a great way to raise some money.

"I believe in Starter Packs as a charity and how they operate, so it's a very good cause."

The Evening Times reported the first Start from Scratch night which brought together local DJs in Paisley fundraising night.

Its aim was to raise money for the Govan-based charity, which helps people get back on their feet after moving to new homes, by donating Starter Packs.

These packs include household items such as duvets, crockery and furniture.

The fundraising night will be a welcome boost for the charity, which has expanded to include internationally-rated acts Animal Farm, Silicone Soul, Waxworks and No Sleep.

Glasgow-based artist Pauline McCloy is also creating a special light installation for the event using vintage lamps.

Joe added: "All the acts are the cream of Glasgow really so they'll be bring a crowd of their own as well as the crowd we bring along ourselves."

There will also be a specially run bus for the event which will travel between Paisley and the city centre venue at Saint Judes in a round trip,

Sarah Findlay, development manager for Starter Packs, said: "I'm delighted that the Glasgow and Paisley techno community is supporting Starter Packs Glasgow in this way.

"The artists performing are very well known and alongside fundraising, are promoting our work to their followers, which broadens our support base."
