Beer is the drink of choice in October, and so this week Yelp Glasgow brings you a round up of places to pick up a pint! Yelpers know all the best spots in Glasgow so here's just a selection.

Blackfriars, 36 Bell Street, Merchant City, Glasgow, G1 1LG

Offering a "great range of frequently changing ales alongside the usual lagers, heavy and Guinness". Martin R tips there's "occasionally a 'tap takeover' from a single brewery as well as a good selection of bottled American craft beers too".

BrewDog, 1397 Argyle Street, Glasgow West End, G3 8AN

Rocco G keeps "coming back for the '5am Saint' red amber ale - a true taste sensation to behold". With other selections including Dead Pony Club, Dogma, Libertine Black Ale and the infamous Punk IPA, you won't be short of choices!

Curler's Rest, 256 Byres Road, Glasgow West End, G12 8SH

With a good choice of beers on tap including Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn and Blue Moon, you'll also find an ever-changing selection of cask ales.

Drum & Monkey, 91 St Vincent Street, Glasgow City Centre, G2 5TF

With guest ales from around the UK as well as quality cask ales and a cask ale club, this is a real beer haven! You'll also find some more unusual beers so get your taste buds ready for something different.

Hippo Beers, 128 Queen Margaret Drive, Glasgow West End, G20 8NY

Trudie M says "if you love craft beer, or just beer, then this is your shop". There's a "great selection and a member of staff always happy to give that recommendation".

Inn Deep, 445 Great Western Road, Glasgow West End, G12 8HH

John M "finally got a chance to visit this William Bros bar and it is great. Tasty drinks and friendly staff. Glasgow has been crying out for a place where you can treat yourself to samples of different drinks in third-pint servings!"

Laurieston Bar, 58 Bridge Street, Glasgow South Side, G5 9HU

Summed up by Joseph P, this bar has "well kept real ales from Fyne Ales, very friendly bar staff and a free jukebox - be prepared to wait for your song to come on though".

Three Judges, 141 Dumbarton Road, Glasgow West End, G11 6PR

With an "ever revolving array of guest ales, as well as a damn fine selection of regular ones" Tony C is a big fan! To top it off - "they offer two pint takeaway cartons, which may be the single greatest thing in a pub anywhere".

Valhalla's Goat, 449 Great Western Road, Glasgow West End, G12 8HH

This bottle shop's "choice is simply staggering". Adam B loves the "quality American, Canadian and other imports" with a range of local beers plus wine as well!

West Brewery, Templeton Building, Glasgow Green, G40 1DA

Jenna C raves that "the beer is fan-fricking-tastic (Hefeweizen being my drink of choice when I indulge), the food is excellent and the atmosphere is always pretty chilled".
