IT was the generation that didn't waste anything so, with the war just over, this industrious business snapped up an old RAF ambulance which found a new lease of life as a fishmonger and poulterer's van.
Stopped in Glasgow's Dundas Street, there were plenty customers waiting to check out its produce before deciding on what to buy.
Rationing was on the way out but continued for certain foodstuffs until the 50s, so perhaps it wouldn't pay to be too choosy about the quality on offer.
Still, a queue is always a good sign at any food outlet, and that is something these people would have become used to during the war.
At least at the end of this queue there was an assistant to serve you and you didn't have to ring up the till yourself as we do now.
